Our four well appointed guest bedrooms are spacious and each has an ensuite bathroom. The lake rooms have views of Lake Manapouri and the mountain ranges beyond. We have comfortable beds with cotton bed linen and cosy duvets. All rooms have amenities to ensure your comfort and enjoyment of the house including New Zealand made toiletries, hairdryers, bathrobes, magazines and tea and coffee making facilities. An iron and ironing board are provided for your convenience. Each room is individually furnished to reflect the history and tradition of the property. Our guests will experience the Murrell tradition of hospitality offering a warm welcome and superior service.
Relax on the veranda or by the fire in the guest sitting room and browse through the many books we have on the area. Historic paintings and photographs are featured throughout the house depicting the history of our unique accommodation.
The house can accommodate a maximum of 9 guests and exclusive use of the house is available. Please contact us directly if you are interested in this option.
and the food....
A delicious breakfast is served in the guest dining room using fresh local produce, fruit, cereals and croissants and homemade preserves. We have a range of teas and fresh plunger coffee. Breakfast is served at a time to suit our guests between 7am and 9am.
Earlier times can be arranged to accommodate departure times for Doubtful Sound cruises.
There are a range of options for dinner in Manapouri and Te Anau. If you prefer to dine at the house we do offer an Antipasto platter for 2 which includes delicious New Zealand cheese, salami, olives and other goodies. Enjoy with a glass of wine on the veranda or in front of the fire and relax. The platter can be ordered on arrival and we do have a selection of wines available for your convenience.
Platters are $50 for 2 people.
Special diets can be catered for if notified prior to arrival.
