A warm welcome to Murrells Grand View House
Murrells Grand View House was built in 1889 for the Murrell family to provide accommodation for the first tourists to the Manapouri area. The Murrell family were explorers, guides and tourism hosts in the early pioneering days of Fiordland. The house has continued to be operated as accommodation since 1889 by the Murrell family making it the oldest of its kind in New Zealand.
The house offers unique accommodation in historic surroundings and is set in 3 acres of gardens close to Lake Manapouri with magnificent views of the lake and mountains beyond. There are four spacious en-suite rooms with views to the lake, mountains or garden. Grand View House is the perfect place to stay for your visit to Fiordland.
